Hi everyone! I am Steph; a 36 year old woman living in Philadelphia, PA. Like many of you, I have been on and off dating apps for years. I often think my insane dating experiences and those of my friends would make for a really entertaining book or sitcom. As a social person, I enjoy surrounding myself with friends, family, a love interest, volunteering, jumping into a workout class, or imbibing at a work happy hour,  add in an International Pandemic, most of that has come to a screeching halt. With everyone forced to stay home solo (me) or... better yet, with your roommates that are all coupled up and able to enjoy more than a vibrator for months. I went through all of the things...confusion, frustration, sadness, my Netflix watch list, peace, self exploration, video chats with friends, etc. But at the end of the day, I was not going to let this insanity get me down. I realized how much this would suck if we didn't have the technology that we have today. I refused to let COVID-19 prevent me meeting someone with whom I could eventually build a future. So, I jumped back on the apps and began navigating my way through the new normal of virtual dating. Honestly, this is a shit show. As a huge comedy fan finds the humor in most circumstances, I really enjoy some aspects of social distance dating. When meeting for the first time becomes more difficult than just dinner or drinks, we are encouraged to think outside the box and break out of our comfort zone. With this blog, I'll share my own experiences, date ideas, and conversation topics with the goal of helping you take baby steps into the new dating normal; especially since there is no expiration date in sight. I would love for this to become a forum where you too can share your experiences and ideas. Together, we can create a hilarious and positive place to embrace each other and navigate "Dating in the time of COVID".
